The colors in the original are more vivid and full of life. They blend together better than the colors I chose to use in my illustration. The hues contrast in my portrait now that i see the two pictures side by side. Not to make excuses but this flower was much harder to illustrate than any other subject matter I’ve chosen in the past. Not my best work. But then again, I say that about a lot of my photos. The perspective is skewed just a bit more than the original but I think I captured the contrasts of light and dark in the flower.

I think my photo relates to Paul Cezanne’s in a way that is not easily described. He uses very unique textures and colors to express the mood of the painting. He uses complementary colors but not to shade a certain object. His pictures are very expressive with things that don’t have much meaning. I love his style but its not something I would normally consider design.

I decided to critique Zack’s work. I love his subject matter because of how it represents such a cliche label for college students. We all party, we don’t do our school work, we are still very immature in most aspects, and we need to grow up! I think some of us set ourselves up for these reputations on purpose and others it just happens to. However, his composition is quite nice. The hands look a little strange. They look more cartoonist than realistic. Very nice effort though because people are hard to illustrate.  I can vouch for him. I wish he would’ve incorporated the glare from the lights into the cans. Overall, pretty good job!
